Epidemics among fishery products have affected aquaculture industry and fishing industry not only in Japan but also foreign countries, and to make matters worse, it is difficult to apply the wisdom of onshore epidemics prevention to pelagic epidemics. In this lecture, some international examples and features of fishery products' epidemics will be introduced, and then issues of current political strategy in Japan will be discussed.
