Desertification is one of the most serious environmental problems of the present world, which is not only a local problem but has influences on the other parts of the world. For example, the ongoing desertification in the North-East Asia directly influences on Japan through causing yellow sand storms. In this lecture, Prof. Okuro introduces his research for purpose of the construction of a system that enables us to diagnose, treat, and prevent the desertification of the local environment.
