UTokyo Open Lecture series aims to directly communicate outcomes of our academic research to a larger audience.The theme of the 126th lecture is New Oder.

Buddhism, born in the 5th century BC when a new social order was being created, had a significant impact on Asia, developing new ideas about being and our social life.This lecture discusses the formation and collapse of the order the Buddhist Sutras describe, introducing the method of Indian Buddhist studies.
