The 2011 earthquake and tsunami which struck the Tohoku region caused enormous damage. The severity of the impact of the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant accident which occurred in its wake had been unprecedented in our experience. The SPH of the University of Tokyo is considering how best to respond to various issues stemming from this crisis from a medium-to long-term perspective.
