Interdisciplinary Information Studie - the Merging of Information and various Academic Disciplines (Global Focus on Knowledge)

Rapidly developing information technology has a large impact on greater society as a technological and ideological foundation that supports the current information society, and has changed the quality of intellectual activities in the areas of economics, society, education, culture, the arts, human behavior and towards life itself. It is therefore important for us as citizens of the 21st century, irrespective of which side of the academic divide (natural sciences vs. humanities/social sciences) we are on, to understand the relationship between information and intellectual activities. This lecture is based on concepts and methodologies in mandatory “information” courses that are taught to students in all areas. The purpose of this lecture is to provide students with the true meaning of broad information literacy by studying how these concepts and methodologies influence the various areas described above and how intellectual activities are altered as a result.
