Prof. Takanashi claims that the macro-level behavior of radioactive materials will become clearer, if the micro-level chemical processes are clarified. His research group studied the movement of radioactive materials in the soil, river and ocean, by using XAFS ( X-ray absorption fine structure ) analysis.
