With respect to the governmental regulation for private-sector activities, this course discusses its significance, method, and formation mechanism, and furthermore, conducts its analysis from economics viewpoints. Covering both economic and social regulations, the lectures are broken down into the three sections. The first part will survey economic theories that form the foundation of your leaning, and with free use of these analytical tools, economically clarify basic principles lying behind regulation policies. The topics in this section include a congestion charge, peak load charge, Ramsey pricing, political economics on regulations, the regulation of a fare rate of return, the price-cap regulation, the regulation on incentives, and the regulation policy under asymmetric nature of information.
