On the Cs Dynamics in Forest and the Resurgence of Forestry [JP]
Radioactive contamination of the trees is a serious obstacle to the cultivation of the mushrooms, which are an important part of the forestry products. Prof. Miura finds out how Cs moves from the trees, through the mushroom logs taken from the tree, to the mushrooms. Cs Dynamics from Trees to Soil and Back [JP]
Dr. Endo reports on the observations of the dynamics of radioactive cesium in the forest in Fukushima. Her conjecture is that Cs-137 cyclically moves from the tree crown to the soil through the fallen leaves and branches, and back from the soil to the trees through absorption. Cs Dynamics in Fruit Farm [JP]
In order to figure out the Cs dynamics in fruit farms, we should take a lot of factors into consideration. In this report, the migration mechanism of radioactive cesium from the soil to the fruit trees, and also in the reverse direction, is clarified. NOTE: This lecture was conducted only in Japanese.
Discussion: Part II. Forestry and Cs Dynamics in and around the Trees [JP]
