CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) refers to children whose parents are deaf/hard of hearing and who grow up between the deaf world of their parents and the audible world outside. They sometimes act as interpreters for their parents and are classified as young carers. In this lecture we will explore the structure of social “inconvenience” and what “disability” is, based on the concerns of CODA.
