Cosmology as a probe of high energy and gravitational physics

1:58

How did the universe begin? What is the nature of black holes? What are the fundamental laws of the universe that describe matters and their interactions? What is the origin of spacetime? You will come up with a lot of questions about the universe. Cosmology explores these questions based on cutting-edge theories and the latest observational and experimental data. In this lecture, I will first give an introductory talk on modern cosmology with the keyword Cosmic Expansion. Based on this, in the second half of the lecture, I will discuss how the universe looks like for physicists and how physicists do scientific research on the universe with the keyword Accelerating Universe. In particular, I will discuss the early universe inflation as a probe of high energy physics and also the role of cosmology in the recently developing interdisciplinary research on quantum gravity and quantum information.
