We often hear, "Their body has a natural spring to it." But what exactly does this mean? Continuous movements like jumping rope are remarkably similar to the oscillation of a mass-spring system responding to external forces. In this lecture, I will explore the mechanical principles behind the body's "spring-like" mechanisms and explain how they function in human movement.
