The talk focuses on how "anesthesia" evolved from the discovery of a plant with a mysterious anesthetic effect to highly developed general anesthesia that makes it possible to treat patients under surgery safely and comfortably. It also focuses on how modern anesthesiologists are playing an active role before, during and after surgery. The target of this talk is those but not limited to, who are interested in medicine and anesthesiology.
